Keep Your Child Away From This Device if You Don’t Want Their Sleep Less At Night

Currently smart devices that use touch screen features are already part of almost all households. Likewise this device becomes a living part of the children as their everyday toy type.

Electronic devices that have long existed and are common in homes such as television and video games, have long been associated with sleep problems in children. But from the results of research, the babies and toddlers who often use this touch screen device as their toy, known to sleep less at night.

Based on the results of a study presented to the Scientific Report that, infants and toddlers between the ages of six months and three years, that every hour playing tablets and smartphones will reduce sleep to 15 minutes of total sleep.

The study, led by Tim Smith of Birkbeck University of London, with participants about 715 infants and toddlers between the ages of 6 to 36 months from June 205 to March 206.

At least about 70% of parents who follow the survey have touch screen devices of various types.

Each parent is asked to report the average naps and naps of their babies and toddlers, the time when their children are sleepy, and how often they wake up at night.

Based on the results obtained from the survey, infants and toddlers who play more touch screen devices have fewer sleeps during the night. Some of these children have longer naps but less nights sleep.

The average, every hour that is done to play the touch screen device, resulting in about 26 minutes reduced sleep time of night and 10 minutes longer nap time. And about 15.6 minutes less than the total sleep time.
